About

… Me

I was born on January 26th, 1971 in the little town of Ceiba, Puerto Rico. I’m a Navy Brat and a former US Marine. I’m currently employed as a System Analyst with a major telecommunications company. I’ve been married, to the same lovely woman, for twenty years and have an eleven-year-old son. I live on a small hobby farm in southern Virginia where we have six goats, three dogs, three chickens, and two guinea pigs. In my spare time, I read a great deal of fiction, play video games, brew beer and mead, play guitar, and sometimes write. Some day I hope to have some of my writing published. In the mean time, I’m happy to keep doing all the things I currently do.

… The Site

What will you find here? Mostly, my opinions and thoughts on everything I have my grubby little paws in or turn my mind to. Most of it is likely to be day to day minutia, but every now and again I’m likely to voice a heartfelt opinion about something beyond my monkey sphere. When that happens, you may or may not agree. That is perfectly fine, just don’t expect me to care one way or the other. I write here for myself and as such, I write whatever I want. If you don’t like it, the web is a wide and varied space; I’m sure there’s somewhere else your time would be better spent.

That said, it certainly doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear your opinion, should you choose to express it. Just bear in mind that, should I feel the need, I will likely respond in like tone. So, let’s keep things civil. That isn’t meant to sound like I’m throwing down a gauntlet; I’m all for thoughtful, civil discourse. Like anyone else, though, rude and obnoxious behavior pisses me off and tends to generate a like response.

To comment you will need to register. It’s not up for negotiation. Given the realities of SPAM and other unwanted garbage wafting from blogs these days, it’s just how things are. I’m very likely to approve your registration and/or comments, but I reserve the right not to. I also reserve the right to edit or remove comments if I feel the need (though I have no intention of actively moderating anything here). Again, my house, my rules.

It should go without saying that comments posted by subscribers are, of course, their own opinions and do not necessarily reflect my own.

All that said, welcome. There’s Caffeine Free Coke in the fridge. Help yourself. We don’t stand on ceremony here.
