Sometimes I wish she was you…

So, TechRestore just called. The hard-drive in my iPod is dying. Funny how Apple couldn’t figure that out. I really seriously wonder whether Apple looked at it at all in the two weeks they had it. When I got it back from Apple, it wasn’t even in working condition: the battery was completely drained, and I had to reformat and restore the hard-drive. After all of that it continued to fail (well, duh, the hard-drive was dying).
You might be thinking that I’m bad-mouthing Apple in general; I’m not. I’m bad-mouthing their tech guys. The ones over the phone were perfectly useless, and the ones who got my iPod in their sweaty little hands clearly didn’t know their asses from a hole in the ground. I guess it’s good that my other Apple hardware never fails (touch wood - scratch a stay). It makes me even less confident than before in purchasing their AppleCare Protection Plan on anything I buy from them. I mean, it might have cost me less over-all had I bought the plan, but Apple couldn’t find anything wrong with my iPod, so it really wasn’t worth it, was it? In the future I will simply go to a third-party authorized Apple technician. I got much better service and satisfaction.
I’d like to note that I shipped TechRestore my iPod on Monday of this week and they will be fixing and shipping it back to me today. I should have it on Friday. Now that’s service.
