Ten Tentacles
So many arms, so little time.

I’ll pick you up and it will be tonight…

It occurred to me this morning, on my long commute, that I haven’t made a post of any real substance in a while. Oh, sure, there have been lost of pictures and anecdotes and meme type deals, but no real hey, world, this is where I am and how I’m doing sort of thing in a while. I, therefore, toil to rectify that…

I am still here and I’m doing pretty OK. How’s that? Not good? Ok, fine.

Work has been pretty hectic the last few weeks. I have a pretty big project due to be completed in June and there’s lots of ramp-up work for it. I’m enjoying it, though, even if some days I want to pull my hair out over the minutiae that gets debated. There will be a tremendous sense of accomplishment when all is said and done. I’m looking forward to that.

Home is good, as always. Devin is growing like a weed and testing all sorts of boundaries both with us, as parents, and his environment. Most of it is the good kind of testing. Only a small amount is the bad kind where I want to pile-drive him. If things keep going the way they are going now, though, he should survive into his teens. Maybe. Corrie Ann is ramping things up for the fit of gardening that usually happens in the spring. Hopefully this year she can avoid injury and be able to actually keep up with it all. I know it makes her intensely happy to have her gardens flourishing.

Let’s see, what else? Well, I’m pissed about Battlestar Galactica. I have to wait a whole SEVEN MONTHS for a new episode. However, Eureka looks promising, so maybe that’ll hold me over. There are, of course, back episodes of Stargate SG-1 if all else fails. I hate to admit it, because I’m likely to lose cool points, but I just can’t get into Doctor Who. I was never much of a fan, ever really, and the new one isn’t tickling any fancies. Maybe that’ll change. I’ve been known to latch onto a series just as it’s about to end. Go figure.

I’m still plugging along on my diet and exercise. Finally got back on the horse this week and things are moving right along. I’ve made some changes to my routine, though. I love my Bowflex, but it honestly doesn’t do a great job with abs; at least not for me. I find that most of the exercises for abs require the use of hands and arms and they tire long before my abs do. So, I’m doing abs separately, the old fashioned way. I’m doing lots of sit-ups, crunches, and leg-lifts. The Bowflex is great for upper body and legs though, and I am seeing great results. So much so that I bought a very tight shirt yesterday because I thought it really showed off my chestal (it’s a word .. shutup) area. Unfortunately, because of the afore mentioned issues with my abs, I still have some muffin-top (this is what Corrie Ann calls love handles) to deal with. This new shirt is intended as an undershirt (it’s made of a material that wicks sweat away) for my fencing jacket, though, so the high waist of my knickers will hide the muffin-top. Hurray! Maybe if I’m feeling my oats I’ll take a picture.

Speaking of fencing, that’s still going great. I’m having so much fun and I’m really looking forward to Coaches College this summer. I am still apprehensive: I wonder if I can do it, if I’m wasting my time, or if, god forbid, I’m wasting everyone else’s time. I think, though, that I will come through it all OK. I have a great desire to promote the sport and to see others succeed. If I can be a part of helping them succeed, then I think that would be the greatest feeling in the world. I am apprehensive, but I am hopeful.

Outside of those things, there isn’t much else going on. I have some plans for my journal. I’ve already started implementing some things (like tags for the posts, del.icio.us, and some template changes) and more are on the way. I’m mulling over a few options for the look and recently it’s been brought to my attention (thank you Elizabeth) that I don’t have an about me/profile page, so I’ll be adding that real soon.

All in all, things are great. I have no complaints. There are little bumps and scrapes, but it’s all just life and living it. I am trying my best to live it to the fullest.

Hey….good to know that you’re doing ok! I don’t see you often, much less get to actually talk to you! And besides…..I kind like where your “muffin top” is going…it’s kinda sexy, especially in your new shirt! Love the new boobs too…..I need better boobs!

It’s kind of a smooshed water tower, but it looks almost done. I’m sure there’s lots more welding to do, but the basic structure is up and all tack-welded. Hurray, water tower!

I’ll surely miss your tender kiss…

So, I was chatting with eevieivy, like you do, and I was relating the story of the tight shirt, I mentioned earlier, when my gayness, pimp bitch that she is, rolled up on me, cracked the window on the broham, and popped a cap in my ass.

See, I went to the store to buy King [...]
