The book burning’s in perfect order…

Well, our government is at it again. Seems they’ve decided to make sure our poor fellow humans of the hearing-impaired persuasion are not subjected to the evils of the boob tube:

I don’t know why this stuff surprises me anymore. I mean we’re talking about a presidency that is putting offices of faith into major government departments and staffing them with former 700 Club employees.

You know, I heard some people talking on the radio about the fact that there hasn’t been a terrorist incident in the US since 9/11. We were told Al’Qaeda operates on an eighteen month cycle, with detailed planning and training, but it has been a year plus eighteen months and then some since that horrible day. Some suggest that they simply don’t have the resources; that the war on terrorism is working. One lone soul suggested that perhaps they are just waiting out the election year. An attack now would galvanize the county again. People would be flying flags again and riding high on patriotism and Dubyah’s approval raiting would soar. He’d win by a landslide. They don’t want him as president again. I tend to agree with this idea. When you see that 87% of voters in the democratic primaries are choosing a candidate based on his ability to beat Bush rather than any particular platform stance, then maybe there are really a whole world of people who think he’s a miserable failure.

To borrow a phrase, “Who says that? I say that.”
